Fast and convenient
marine temperature calibrators
The new MTC series of portable temperature calibrators
from JF INSTRUMENTS makes it very easy to maintain
correct readings for all your temperature monitoring
devices. The dry-block design does not use any hazardous
hot liquid, has a larger temperature range and heats up
and cools down much faster than a traditional liquid
The JF INSTRUMENTS MTC series of dry-block
calibrators has been designed for much easier true
temperature calibration in the field, leading to
reliable results. The simple operation and the automatic
functions have been carefully selected for ease of use.
This has resulted in a fast, simple and efficient
temperature calibrator without compromising quality.

Model and temperature range
MTC-140 A..........-17 to 140°C (-1 to 284°F)
MTC-320 A..........50 to 320°C (122 to 608°F)
MTC-650 A..........50 to 650°C (122 to 1202°F)
The MTC series features a large backlit display
showing a lot of useful information at the same time:
The set value and the true temperature, the status on
the thermo switch test input, a count- down time before
the temperature is stable and a big check mark when it
is stable. To save time use the automatic switch test.
The MTC series will find the open and close temperatures
on a thermo switch and calculate the dead band. The MTC
series also features an auto-step function. Using this
function you may stay in the control room and monitor
the temperature reading while the calibrator
automatically steps through a number of pre-programmed
temperatures located next to the sensor.
Three models - The JF INSTRUMENTS MTC series consist
of three different models differ in temperature. All
units offer similar features and the large, backlit LCD
display panel, which is easy-to-read even in well-lit
areas. A rugged, slim-line, aluminium outer casing with
die-cast top and bottum protects the MTC series of
Well - optimized for speed - The special designed
heating block profile reduces the mass so it heats up
and cool down very quick. The design still offers good
stability and accuracy.
High flexibility - You are not limited by fixed
holes. Interchangeable insertion tubes are used to match
the diameter of your sensor-under-test. Also multihole
inserts are available.
Switch test - Fully automatic test of thermo
switches. The calibrator will find the closing and the
opening temperatures and calculate the hysteresis. This
makes you save time and leaves you free to concentrate
on other things while the test is running.
step - The calibrator will automatically change to
the next programmed value. This allows the calibrator to
be placed anywhere in the process while you monitor the
output from the sensor-under-test in the control room.
- If adjustment of the
calibrator is needed, use the built-in routine. No need
for a computer or a screwdriver. "Calibration Date" is
shown each time the instrument is switched on.
circuitry - The MVI technology removes the stability
problem caused by an unstable mains supply. This is very
often a problem in production environments with large
electric motors, heating elements, etc. cycling on and
off. More about MVI
Stability indicator - Clear audio and visual
indication in the display when the calibrator is stable.
Simplified calibration documentation - All JOFRA MTC
series calibrators are delivered with an RS232 serial
interface and the JOFRACAL calibration software.
JOFRACAL software presents the means for an entirely
automatic calibration of sensors and a semi-automatic
calibration of the complete process loop through the use
of a PC.
